Grab a Friend—Hazelight’s Split Fiction Is Co-Op Magic with a Twist!

Alright, co-op fans, here’s your next big adventure: Hazelight Studios—the creative geniuses behind It Takes Two—just announced their latest game, Split Fiction, and it’s shaping up to be a wild ride through sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

So, what’s the story? You and a friend will step into the shoes of Mio and Zoe, two writers with very different styles. One’s all about epic sci-fi battles, and the other’s deep into magical fantasy vibes. The catch? They’ve been sucked into their own stories by a machine stealing their ideas (rude, right?). Now they have to work together to escape while unlocking crazy new powers, all while bouncing between galaxies and enchanted forests.

What makes Split Fiction awesome? Imagine teaming up to escape a sun about to go supernova, breakdance battling a monkey, pulling off hoverboard tricks, and (my personal favorite) riding a sandshark. Hazelight is doing what they do best—making sure every moment is packed with surprises and laugh-out-loud fun.

Oh, and here’s the cherry on top: the Friend’s Pass is back. If you buy the game, your buddy can join for free—even if they’re on a different console or PC. This means no more excuses for your friends to bail.

Josef Fares, Hazelight’s head honcho, says this is their “most epic co-op adventure yet,” and honestly, I believe him. These are the people who made fighting as a pair of anthropomorphic book-hating dolls emotional and unforgettable.

Split Fiction drops March 6, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $49.99. Grab your player two, and get ready for one heck of an adventure.
