Nintendo Download Highlights Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen, Retro Soundtracks on Nintendo Music, and More

Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Download roundup for February 26, 2026 leans heavily into nostalgia, with Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version set to launch on the Nintendo eShop on February 27.

The week’s headline Switch 2 release is Resident Evil Requiem, which arrives February 27 with pre-orders live, while Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is available now digitally on Switch 2. There’s also a Switch 2-specific version of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition with performance upgrades and an upgrade path for owners of the Switch version.

For retro-minded players, the biggest news is that FireRed and LeafGreen are being sold as standalone eShop releases rather than landing inside the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance library.

Nintendo is also pushing the nostalgia angle in its Nintendo Music app. Alongside the FireRed/LeafGreen soundtrack drop, Nintendo’s latest update adds Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins music to the service as well.
