Gunmetal Games has announced that Rewind 99, its open-world video rental store simulator, hits Steam Early Access on March 11 at 10:00 AM CT. Launch pricing is $11.99, with a 20% discount at launch.
The game had a strong Steam Next Fest run. The free demo pulled in over 25,000 downloads, crossed 45,000 wishlists, and landed 184 reviews at 89% positive. Streamers CaseOh and moistcr1tikal both played it during the event, with over 100 creators streaming the demo in the first 48 hours.

The premise: you’re running the last video rental store in Reshoot Springs while a corporate streaming service called RentNet moves in on your turf. Beyond managing inventory and helping customers, the game opens up into an open world with some genuinely unhinged side hustles. The demo already had a Mechanical Bull, a Repo Man, a Claw Machine, an Illicit Candy Dealer, and a Movie Mixing system. Early Access adds four more, including a Fight Club, a Pizza Delivery Service (with a Pizza Gun, naturally), an Arcade, and an Ice Cream Bar. There are also 99 collectibles, lottery scratchers, store upgrades, full player customization, and co-op for up to four players.

If you grew up going to Blockbuster on a Friday night and arguing about what to rent, this one has your name on it. Steam page.
