Rushing Beat Shura Fan Translation Restores the Japanese Version
A new fan translation of Jaleco's 1993 Super Famicom brawler Rushing Beat Shura restores the Japanese version, reversing the changes made for its North American release.
A new fan translation of Rushing Beat Shura, the 1993 Super Famicom beat-em-up from Jaleco, is now available on GitHub and romhacking.net. According to Time Extension, the project does more than translate the game into English. It reverses changes made for the original North American release, restoring the Japanese version.

That framing is what makes the release notable. Rushing Beat Shura reached North America as The Peace Keepers, a localization that altered parts of the game. A patch built specifically to undo those changes is a form of localization criticism as much as a preservation effort, and it gives English-speaking players access to a version of an obscure brawler that most never touched.
