Grid Legends
Grid Legends is a racing game developed by Codemasters and published by EA, released in February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Deluxe Edition was released for Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2026. The game is part of Codemasters' long-running GRID series, which traces its lineage back to TOCA Race Driver and Race Driver: Grid from the mid-2000s.
Grid Legends places an emphasis on accessible arcade-style racing alongside a scripted story mode called Driven to Glory, notable for featuring live-action cutscenes with real actors integrated into the racing career format. The game supports online multiplayer, including cross-platform play, and includes modes such as Quick Race, Dynamic Events, and competitive leaderboards. It also supports two-player local split-screen.
The game is built around a broad grid of race types, from circuit racing and drifting to demolition derby events, targeting a wide range of player preferences within a single package. The GRID series has historically positioned itself between simulation-leaning titles and pure arcade racers, and Legends continues that approach.
Codemasters, founded in 1986 and acquired by EA in 2021, is the studio behind the F1 series, the DiRT series, and the broader GRID franchise. Grid Legends was the final GRID entry before EA's consolidation of Codemasters' output narrowed primarily toward Formula 1 titles. EA announced in 2026 that online services for Grid Legends on PlayStation and Xbox would shut down on September 11 of that year, following the earlier retirement of Grid 2, Grid Autosport, and Grid (2019) online services in 2025.
