POCG VERDICT
At last, an FMV adventure that respects your intelligence.
With drop‑dead gorgeous 360‑degree environments, a razor‑sharp interface, and an AI sidekick that'll make you laugh out loud, Legacy of Time sets the FMV gold standard. A little pixelation and some New Age undercurrents annoy, but it's still an easy recommend.
About This Game

The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time is a first‑person Full Motion Video (FMV) adventure game developed by Presto Studios and published by Red Orb for Windows 95 and Macintosh in 1998. It is the third installment in The Journeyman Project series, which began in 1993. The game casts players as Agent Gage Blackwood of the Temporal Security Agency (TSA), who must stop a temporal catastrophe by traveling to the lost civilizations of Atlantis, Shangri‑La, and El Dorado. The story uses a chameleon suit to assume the guises of inhabitants and features a unique AI sidekick, Arthur, who provides hints, commentary, and comic relief. Gameplay is entirely mouse‑driven, with an intuitive point‑and‑click interface and freely explorable 360‑degree panoramic environments. Puzzles involve inventory use, dialogue, and environmental interaction. The title was praised for its high production values, including detailed pre‑rendered backgrounds, FMV sequences, and an orchestral score. It includes a built‑in hint system and multiple difficulty levels, making it accessible to a wide age range. While not officially re‑released, used copies remain available, and the game can be run on modern systems through compatibility modes or virtual machines.
