Berkeley Systems Launches Caption Game Get the Picture on Bezerk

Get the Picture, Berkeley Systems' fifth original Bezerk game, is live: players write captions for a rotating gallery of images and vote for the winners.

Get the Picture, the fifth original online game from Berkeley Systems (the Sierra On-Line division behind Bezerk), went live today. It joins a lineup that already includes Cosmic Consensus, Acrophobia, and both YOU DON’T KNOW JACK netshows, and it is the first game added since Bezerk became a WON.net premier channel earlier this year.

The game itself is caption comedy. Each round throws up an image (a drawing, a photograph, a cartoon) and players get 45 seconds to write the cleverest caption they can. Some rounds serve up droodles, simple doodles that work as riddles (a butane lighter turned up too far, or one very zesty radish?) Everyone’s captions get listed, players vote for their favorites, points go out accordingly, and a full game runs seven rounds. Berkeley says the image gallery numbers in the thousands, so you never see the exact same game twice. Your host is an artist named Picasso, Pics for short.

Acrophobia already proved the formula (write something funny, let the room judge you) works online. Adding pictures can only help.
