Berkeley Systems Puts $14,000 in Prizes Behind Austin Powers Trivia

Berkeley Systems kicked off the Shagadelic Sweepstakes today on the web site for Austin Powers Operation: Trivia, its newly released CD-ROM trivia game. The contest runs through July 31 with more than $14,000 in total retail prizes from a dozen partners, including Reel.com, Newline.com, Lycos, Maverick Records, Launch.com, Just Go.com, Chumbo.com, McFarlane Toys, Tripod, Vibe Online, SPIN Online and WON.net.

The game itself quizzes players on three decades of fads, fashion, movies, TV, and gossip, 60s through 90s, and sells for $29.95. Anyone who wants to try before entering can grab the Shockwave demo hosted on the site, alongside demos from select partners. Fourteen grand on the table for knowing your decades of pop culture junk food: somebody’s misspent youth is about to pay off.
