WON.net Sponsors the Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards

Gaming site WON.net is sponsoring the second Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards, set for July 19 at Studio 54 with Penn & Teller hosting.

WON.net is putting its name on the second annual Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards. The free gaming and entertainment site joins a sponsor roster that includes Microsoft’s Windows Media Technologies (the presenting sponsor), RCA, TDK, Volkswagen, and Broadcast.com, among a pile of others.

The ceremony lands July 19 at Studio 54 in New York City, hosted by Penn & Teller, with performances from Public Enemy, Seal, and Wyclef Jean & The Refugee All-Stars, plus a special guest appearance by The Artist, formerly known as Prince. Yahoo! Internet Life magazine created the annual awards to honor the artists and online companies doing the boldest work with music on the Net.

What does a gaming site get out of a music award show? Eyeballs. WON.net wants to be an entertainment destination, not just a place to find a match, and sponsorships like this one are the company saying so out loud.
