Half-Life Game of the Year Edition Ships June 30 with Team Fortress Classic

Half-Life Game of the Year Edition ships June 30 with new multiplayer content and Team Fortress Classic, after 40+ awards and a million copies sold.

Half-Life Game of the Year Edition ships to retailers starting June 30, Sierra Studios and Valve announced today. Since launching in November 1998, Half-Life has collected more than 40 Game of the Year honors and sold through over one million copies worldwide, and the new packaging wears those awards proudly, calling out honors from PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World, and CNET’s Gamecenter.

The edition is more than a sticker on the box. It bundles in new multiplayer content plus Team Fortress Classic, the team-based multiplayer game built on the Half-Life engine that has been eating everyone’s evenings. Sierra plans big retail pushes for it in North America and worldwide.

Half-Life is the best thing to happen to PC gaming in years, and I will keep saying so. If you are one of the holdouts who still hasn’t played it, this is the version to buy.
