Acclaim details South Park Rally’s roster and weapons

Acclaim's South Park Rally puts over a dozen characters in matching vehicles on South Park tracks, with original lines recorded by Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and Isaac Hayes.

Acclaim Entertainment has put some meat on South Park Rally, the kart-style racer Tantalus Interactive is building from the Comedy Central show. Races run through tracks including downtown South Park and South Park Forest, with more than a dozen playable characters, each in a ride to match: Cartman in a 4×4, Chef in his wood-paneled station wagon, Grandpa in a jet-propelled wheelchair, Officer Barbrady in the police cruiser, and Stan borrowing his dad’s midlife-crisis hot rod.

Weapons stay on brand, from the Mexican Staring Frog to chocolate salty balls, and Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and Isaac Hayes are recording hundreds of original lines for the game. Every version gets multiplayer race and co-op modes, with the PC version supporting at least eight players over a LAN or the Internet. The premise sells itself; whether the driving holds up is the part I want in my hands.
