Limited Run opens pre-orders for Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition physical on Switch 2

Limited Run Games opens pre-orders July 2 for a physical Switch 2 edition of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, with a standard ($49.99) and collector's ($79.99) version that includes a steelcase and soundtrack CD.

Limited Run Games will open pre-orders for a physical release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 2, 2026. A standard edition priced at $49.99 includes the game and a booklet. A collector’s edition at $79.99 adds a steelcase, a map of Yamatai, a pry axe keychain, and the original soundtrack on CD.

The digital version shadow-dropped on Switch 2 last November. Aspyr’s port brought the 2013 reboot to Nintendo’s hardware with all DLC intact, and now the physical box joins it. A new cartridge for a modern reimagining of the 1996 original that defined 3D action-adventure, complete with proper packaging, gives that revival a permanent shelf presence.

Limited Run’s track record isn’t flawless (the collector’s edition is estimated to ship between April and June 2027), but the move underlines that there is still appetite for boxed copies of classic reboots on Nintendo’s platform, even as Sony publicly buries its own physical media future.
