Panic Bomber W, a Super Famicom puzzle game, joins the Super Bomberman Collection as a free update on August 20, bringing another Japan-exclusive Bomberman to the West.
Super Bomberman Collection is adding Panic Bomber W, a Super Famicom puzzle game, as a free update on August 20, 2026. This is the third previously Japan-exclusive Bomberman title to join the compilation, following Super Bomberman 4 and 5.
Panic Bomber W, originally released by Hudson Soft in 1995, is a competitive block-dropping game for up to four players. It plays more like Puyo Puyo than traditional grid-based Bomberman, with chain reactions and “Big Bombs” activated by filling an on-screen meter. The game was previously available on Wii U Virtual Console, but this marks its first appearance in a modern collection alongside the rest of the Super Bomberman lineage.
The update is free for owners of the Super Bomberman Collection on PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Physical editions are also in the works via Red Art Games. Konami continues to treat this pack with welcome restraint: no microtransactions, no premium unlocks, just more games dropped in.
