Polymega Collection Vol. 19 bundles four Toaplan arcade shooters, including Batsugun and Zero Wing, for an August release.
Polymega has announced Collection Vol. 19, a four-game set headlined by Toaplan’s 1993 bullet-hell shooter Batsugun. The collection also includes the vertical shooters Dogyuun and Vimana, plus the horizontal shooter Zero Wing, the game behind the immortal “All Your Base Are Belong to Us” meme. It releases this August and is already up for pre-order at £30.39.
Like other Polymega releases, the physical package includes a game DVD, visual companion, controller reference, sticker, and a first-come-first-served Batsugun x Polymega pin. The trouble is, all four of these arcade classics are already widely available elsewhere: as individual Steam releases and across three Evercade Toaplan Arcade collections. That makes this a tougher sell unless you’re a dedicated Polymega completionist.
Still, for anyone who prefers their retro games on Polymega’s hybrid hardware, a curated four-pack of Toaplan shooters in one box is a tidy way to keep these arcade legends in circulation. It’s preservation, just with a sticker.
