The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Ship Complete on Disc
Bandai Namco confirms the physical release of The Blood of Dawnwalker contains the full game on disc and is playable offline, despite a planned day-one update.
Bandai Namco has confirmed that the physical release of The Blood of Dawnwalker will contain the complete game data on the disc, fully playable offline. A day-one update is planned, but it isn’t required to start playing. The confirmation, first reported by Eurogamer, as noted by MP1st, puts the game in a shrinking category of boxed releases that don’t demand an internet connection just to get past the title screen.
In a year when PlayStation announced it will stop manufacturing physical discs by 2028 and recent releases like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Halo are essentially storing a launcher that requires a full download, a complete day-one package is genuinely good news for anyone who still values physical ownership. The Blood of Dawnwalker, an open-world RPG from former CD Projekt RED developers at Rebel Wolves, launches September 3, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
There’s a longer conversation to be had about whether a game that requires a day-one patch to fix critical bugs really counts as “complete,” but for now the fact that the single-player experience is intact on the disc is a small win worth acknowledging.
