Nintendo has released an overview trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, detailing the upgrades and new material coming to the 2017 RPG. The updated version runs at 4K and 60fps in TV mode, and at 1080p and 60fps in handheld mode. Nintendo also says cutscenes have been improved with sharper visuals and a higher frame rate.

The Switch 2 Edition launches digitally on July 30, 2026, with a physical release following on October 1. Owners of the original Nintendo Switch version can buy an upgrade pack. The physical run makes this more than a routine resolution upgrade: it gives a 2017 RPG another boxed life on Nintendo’s new hardware.
