Pokémon’s turning 30, and The Pokémon Company is doing what it always does best, a hype drop with a stopwatch on it. They’ve confirmed a new Pokémon Presents will air on Pokémon Day, February 27, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. PST (2:00 p.m. GMT / 3:00 p.m. CET), promising updates and announcements across the whole franchise.
The real “oh wow” is the bonus nostalgia punch: Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the 2004 GBA remakes of the original Gen 1 games, are coming to Nintendo Switch as download-only titles that same day. They’ll unlock after the Pokémon Presents ends, and they’ll be playable on both Switch and Switch 2.

And because 2026 is apparently the year of “brand crossover everything,” Pokémon Day also kicks off the first-ever LEGO Pokémon sets, featuring Pikachu, Eevee, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Your wallet has been warned.
