Nintendo is marking MAR10 Day (March 10) this year with a full slate of events tied to two milestones: the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and the theatrical release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, hitting cinemas April 1 from Illumination and Nintendo.
On the gaming side, Nintendo Switch Online members get access to select Super Mario titles spanning NES, SNES, and Game Boy through March 10. Expansion Pack subscribers also get Mario vs. Donkey Kong (GBA) and a couple of Virtual Boy titles, Mario Clash and Mario’s Tennis, for the day. Physical game deals run March 8 to 14 at select retailers, including Super Mario 3D World and Odyssey at $39.99 each. Digital deals on the eShop and My Nintendo Store run through March 15. Mario Kart World is hosting a three-week My Nintendo Open Series with Platinum Points up for grabs. There’s also a sweepstakes running through May 31 for a trip to Super Nintendo World at either Universal Hollywood or Universal Orlando, entered through My Nintendo.
For anyone near a Nintendo retail store, Mario himself will be making appearances at Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco. Select Walmart locations have demos on March 8.
