Namco’s 1994 arcade racer Ace Driver has joined Hamster’s Arcade Archives line, giving the System 22 racing game its first official home release.
Hamster has listed Arcade Archives Ace Driver for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with Arcade Archives 2 Ace Driver bringing it to newer platforms. The original followed Ridge Racer into Namco’s polygonal racing era — but unlike Ridge Racer, Ace Driver never made it home.
That makes this more than another weekly archive drop. Ace Driver is a missing piece of Namco’s 1990s arcade racing history, and official access matters when the original experience was tied to large dedicated hardware most players will never own.
