Samurai Spirits RPG Saturn Hack Unlocks PlayStation Bonus Content

The Sega Saturn version of Shinsetsu Samurai Spirits Bushidou Retsuden, better known as Samurai Spirits RPG, can now access bonus content previously associated with the PlayStation release.
As reported by Time Extension, Bo Bayles found that the Saturn version contains the PlayStation bonus material and has released a patch making it accessible from the game’s Omake menu. The 1997 RPG was already unusual: its Neo Geo CD, Saturn, and PlayStation versions each carried different bonus content across platforms.
This is the kind of version-difference story that looks small until you care about preservation. Old games are often treated as if there is one definitive release, but disc-era ports routinely hid different modes, scenes, scripts, and leftovers across platforms. A patch like this does not just add a menu option. It exposes how much history can sit unnoticed inside a game for decades.
