About This Game

Heretic II is a third-person action game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision, built on an enhanced Quake II engine. The sequel to the 1994 first-person shooter Heretic, this entry shifts perspective and mechanics entirely, placing players behind the protagonist Corvus as he fights through plague-ravaged lands, climbing, swimming, and casting spells through large indoor and outdoor environments. The shift to third-person brought the game closer in feel to Tomb Raider than its own predecessor.
