About This Game

FIFA 13 is a 2012 association-football game developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports for a wide range of platforms including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, Wii, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and mobile. One of the best-selling entries in EA's long-running annual FIFA series, it featured hundreds of licensed clubs, leagues and national teams alongside thousands of real players, all powered by official competition licences that were a key advantage over rivals. FIFA 13 introduced or refined several gameplay systems that shaped the series: a 'First Touch Control' mechanic that made ball trapping imperfect and skill-dependent, a 'Complete Dribbling' system for tighter close control, improved 'Tactical Defending' and a smarter 'Player Impact Engine' for physical collisions and AI attacking runs. Its deep mode roster spanned Career Mode, the hugely popular Ultimate Team card-collecting mode, online seasons and skill games. Critically and commercially successful, it was widely praised for its refined, more deliberate on-pitch play and the depth of Ultimate Team, which by this point was central to the franchise's enormous revenue. FIFA 13 represents the series at a peak of its dominance over the football-gaming market during the seventh console generation. It became one of the best-selling sports games of its generation, underscoring the FIFA series' commercial dominance of the era.
