LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a 2012 action-adventure developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, released across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Windows. A sequel to LEGO Batman, it expands beyond Gotham's caped crusader to embrace the wider DC Comics universe, teaming Batman and Robin with Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash and other heroes to stop Lex Luthor and the Joker, who have allied to seize power. The game is notable as the first in TT Games' LEGO series to feature full voice acting and spoken dialogue, replacing the franchise's traditional pantomime humour with a more narrative-driven, cinematic approach. It also introduced a large, freely explorable open-world Gotham City between story missions, a structure the studio would carry into later LEGO titles. Gameplay retains the series' hallmark blend of cooperative brick-smashing combat, puzzle-solving using each character's unique abilities, and abundant collectibles. Critically and commercially successful, it was praised for its expanded scope, humour, voice work and the appeal of its huge DC roster. LEGO Batman 2 marked an important evolution for the LEGO games and paved the way for sequels including LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
