NASCAR The Game: Inside Line
NASCAR The Game: Inside Line is a 2012 racing game developed by Eutechnyx and published by Activision, released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The officially licensed game of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, it features authentic stock cars, drivers, sponsors and tracks from the sport's real-world season, letting players compete in the high-speed, fender-to-fender oval racing that defines American stock-car competition. Building on Eutechnyx's previous NASCAR title, Inside Line aimed to improve the on-track AI, presentation and online multiplayer, capturing the drafting tactics, pack racing and crashes characteristic of NASCAR. It offered a career mode, full season play and online races supporting large fields of competitors, along with the strategic elements of pit stops and race management. Critical reception was mixed-to-modest; reviewers credited it with authentic licensing and some improvements over its predecessor but found the handling, physics, graphics and overall polish lagging behind top-tier racing simulations. As one of the few officially licensed NASCAR games of its period, it served the sport's dedicated fan base seeking to recreate the season at home, even if it struggled to satisfy demanding racing-sim enthusiasts. It remains a niche, license-driven entry in the racing genre. It was among the last officially licensed NASCAR console games before a multi-year gap in the series.
