Square Enix is sending it off in style with the grand finale of the ‘Seventh Umbral Era,’ an in-game event meant to give players a smooth, story-driven transition to their new Eorzean homes. Character data carries over to the relaunch. It’s a rare thing to watch a studio formally end one version of a game to replace it with another.
