POCG VERDICT
Three species, pure movie-grade dread.
Three asymmetric campaigns and superb sound design make this a terrifyingly atmospheric shooter. For Alien and Predator fans, just about the best in the genre.
About This Game
Aliens versus Predator is a 1999 first-person shooter developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Fox Interactive for PC, based on the Alien and Predator film franchises. Players take on three radically different campaigns, the Colonial Marine, the Alien and the Predator, each with its own abilities, weapons and play style, across tense, atmospheric environments drawn from the films. Praised for its dread-soaked atmosphere and the novelty of its three asymmetric species, it became a landmark of the licensed shooter and spawned a long-running series.
