July 1998 keeps moving, and today the headline is simple: MS Flight Simulator to use Jeppesen Navigational Data. Microsoft announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Jeppesen, the Denver-based international aviation services company, which states that Jeppesen will supply navigational information for future versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator, the world’s top-selling PC flight simulator.

The most notable difference in Microsoft’s Flight Simulator will be the introduction of real flight navigational information. The simulation currently supports over 3,000 airports. Jeppesen’s worldwide NavData database will add to this information, providing approaches for over 12,500 airports. For PC players watching every demo, patch, driver and announcement right now, this is one more thing to keep on the board.
