July 1998 keeps moving, and today the headline is simple: Warcraft II Platinum Announced. Blizzard announced that with the release of Warcraft II Platinum later this year, Warcraft II will be playable over Battle.net for the first time.

Updated for Windows® 95, Warcraft II Platinum will include two all-new veteran campaigns, offered exclusively in the Platinum edition, as well as the original game and the Beyond the Dark Portal™ expansion set. Warcraft II Platinum is set to be available this holiday season and is expected to be priced at approximately $35. For PC players watching every demo, patch, driver and announcement right now, this is one more thing to keep on the board.
