Microsoft’s Virtual All-Star Game

July 1998 keeps moving, and today the headline is simple: Microsoft’s Virtual All-Star Game. On Thursday, July 2, Microsoft will throw out the first pitch in the “Virtual All-Star Game” taking place at the Pinnacle All-Star FanFest in Denver, CO.
The Virtual All-Star Game is a special configuration of Microsoft Baseball 3D created to determine who might win the real All-Star Game. Featuring the actual line-ups for the All-Star Game, the game’s computer simulated players not only look like the real thing, they play like it as each virtual player mimics the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of their human counterparts. Davey Johnson, Baseball’s 1997 American League Manager of the Year, will be managing the National League All-Stars while Dick Williams, four-time pennant winner, will be calling the shots for the American League All-Stars. For PC players watching every demo, patch, driver and announcement right now, this is one more thing to keep on the board.
