Hasbro purchased MicroProse

Here is another piece of the September 1998 PC gaming mess. Hasbro said it has successfully completed its cash tender offer to purchase all the outstanding shares of common stock of MicroProse at a price of $6.00 per share. Hasbro also said Hasbro and MicroProse yesterday effected a merger pursuant to which MicroProse became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hasbro and all remaining MicroProse stockholders (other than Hasbro) have the right to receive the same $6.00 per share in cash payable pursuant to the tender offer.

It may not be the biggest story of the month, but Hasbro purchased MicroProse is exactly the sort of thing PC players are tracking right now.
