Quake2 3.19 Linux Release

Zoid of id Software updated his .plan announcing the release of Quake2 3.19 for Linux. This release features support for two different OpenGL drivers: the 3DFX OGL Miniport.

The hardware race keeps getting louder. Zoid of id Software updated his.plan announcing the release of Quake2 3.19 for Linux. This release features support for two different OpenGL drivers: the 3DFX OGL Miniport (which has been ported to Linux) and glX based OpenGL implementations.

The 3DFX Miniport works by preloading the new lib3dfxgl.so library before the Mesa 3-D library gets loaded. The new ref_glx.so rendering shared object handles glX implementations.
