Bootprint Entertainment Launched
GT Interactive Software announced the launch today of Bootprint Entertainment, a new Austin-based entertainment software development studio that will create original PC and console games.
Bootprint Entertainment Launched is the story on November 16, 1998, and it is one of those late-1998 PC gaming updates that says exactly where the scene is right now. GT Interactive Software announced the launch today of Bootprint Entertainment, a new Austin-based entertainment software development studio that will create original PC and console games. The company also announced that the new studio will be run by Rod Nakamoto, former executive producer at Origin Systems, Inc., who was responsible for Electronic Arts' most recent Wing Commander titles, Prophecy and Secret Ops.
Bootprint Entertainment's 16-person, two-team studio is currently developing a proprietary engine for its first title, a character-based action/strategy PC game scheduled for release in the year 2000. The business side keeps moving, and sometimes those deals decide what we actually get to play next year.
