RAD Game Tools to support 3D audio API

RAD Game Tools has added a high level 3D audio API to their well known Miles Sound System which include ssupport for Aureal's award winning A3D positional audio.

RAD Game Tools to support 3D audio API is the story on November 9, 1998, and it is one of those late-1998 PC gaming updates that says exactly where the scene is right now. Aureal Semiconductor today announced that RAD Game Tools has added a high level 3D audio API to their well known Miles Sound System which include ssupport for Aureal's award winning A3D positional audio. Game developers using the new Miles Sound System version 5.0 can gain easy access to A3D through the added functions in the API.

The new Miles 5.0 sound System includes support for other 3D audio APIs as well as MP3 compression and an all-new digital sub-system. Miles also includes DLS-1 MIDI support, providing a host of advanced audio features for game developers. Drivers and hardware updates are not glamorous, but when they fix a game or unlock a card you already paid for, they matter.
