RedEye Interactive Acquires Rights to Tanarus

RedEye Interactive, a premiere online gaming developer, announced that it has obtained the rights to Tanarus, a massively multiplayer action strategy game, from 989 Studios. Member’s of RedEye Interactive’s staff were on the original development team for Tanarus at 989 Studios and have maintained the product since it’s launch. Tanarus is available as a free download. Tanarus featurs multiple cities, a variety of completely customizable lethal tanks and unmatched team play.

For January 1999, this is the business side of gaming doing what it always does: studios forming, publishers moving money around, lawsuits flying, and everyone promising the next big thing. Somewhere in that mess, players eventually get the games. Maybe.
