NVIDIA Stock IPO

NVIDIA Corporation announced today the initial public offering of 3,500,000 shares of common stock at a price of $12.00 per share. The net proceeds to the company from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and working capital. NVIDIA designs, develops and markets 3D graphics processors and related software that provide high performance interactive 3D graphics to the mainstream PC market.

For January 1999, this is the business side of gaming doing what it always does: studios forming, publishers moving money around, lawsuits flying, and everyone promising the next big thing. Somewhere in that mess, players eventually get the games. Maybe.
