HEAT.NET and Interplay Entertainment Agreement

Baldur's Gate is now available for free multi-player action exclusively on HEAT.NET and became the second most played game on HEAT.NET in the first week of availability.

HEAT.NET and Interplay Entertainment today announced an exclusive licensing agreement to feature several of Interplay’s titles on HEAT.NET, including the recently released Baldur’s Gate, the role-playing game based on Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Baldur’s Gate is now available for free multi-player action exclusively on HEAT.NET and became the second most played game on HEAT.NET in the first week of availability.

For January 1999, this is the business side of gaming doing what it always does: studios forming, publishers moving money around, lawsuits flying, and everyone promising the next big thing. Somewhere in that mess, players eventually get the games. Maybe.
