Diamond announces HomeFree Phoneline networking kit

Diamond Multimedia Systems today announced the addition of the HomeFree Phoneline solution to its line of home networking products for PCs. With pricing at approximately $50 per computer, the Diamond HomeFree Phoneline product uses existing home phonelines to link multiple PCs for the sharing of Internet access, printers and other peripherals, as well as to support networked multi-player gaming.

For January 1999, this is the business side of gaming doing what it always does: studios forming, publishers moving money around, lawsuits flying, and everyone promising the next big thing. Somewhere in that mess, players eventually get the games. Maybe.
