Microsoft has the latest July 1999 move: Virtual 1999 Baseball All-Star Game Results Announced. Microsoft says that two of Major League Baseball’s most beloved and successful former managers, Chuck Tanner and Jim Frey, appeared at FanFest in Boston to decide the winner of this year’s All-Star Game a bit earlier than expected. The longtime friends and former roommates managed their teams in a computer-simulated version of the real game, complete with accurate starting lineups and a beautifully rendered Fenway Park. Frey was victorious, as his American League All-Stars shut down a late game rally by Tanner and the National League to win by a healthy 8 to 4 margin.
