Falcon Northwest announced plans to offer systems based on the AMD Athlon processor, the world’s fastest and highest-performingance x86-based microprocessor. The new systems are planned towill be based on theAMD’s 600 and 650 MHz versions of the AMD Athlon processor CPUs, and feature Falcon Northwest’s Special Edition 200 MHz 3dfx Voodoo 3graphic accelerator cards. This one-two punch of the fastest x86 processors and the world’s fastest 3D video will give gamers incredibly smooth framerates, even at the highest resolutions.

The hardware race is getting mean, and the upside is simple: gamers keep getting faster, stranger toys to bolt into their rigs.
