Brightstar signed contracts with FilSoft

Brightstar signed contracts with FilSoft: Brightstar Entertainment signed contracts today with British development studio FilSoft Entertainment based in Kingston-upon-Thames...

Brightstar signed contracts with FilSoft is today’s industry move, and it is one more reminder that the games business is growing up fast, whether it is ready or not.

Brightstar Entertainment signed contracts today with British development studio FilSoft Entertainment based in Kingston-upon-Thames for two titles. FilSoft is headed by veteran programmer Phil Harvey, who has worked for big names such as Bullfrog, SegaSoft and Virgin before establishing the company less than 12 months ago. He has titles such as Theme Park, Netfighter and Karate3D for Valu-Soft under his belt and has now signed up with Brightstar for the next two titles, Tombstone 1882 and Black Belt, for publication in Europe, Asia and Australia.

It is business news, sure, but these moves shape what games get made, what stores carry them, and who is still standing next year.
