The Sims goes Alpha

The Sims goes Alpha is today's update from the October 1999 desk, and there is enough here to make retro PC players pay attention.

The Sims goes Alpha is today’s update from the October 1999 desk, and there is enough here to make retro PC players pay attention.

The useful part: The Sims, the people simulator designed by SimCity creator Will Wright, has been in development for over seven years. While quite a bit of game balancing, tuning and debugging is still required, Maxis says that the game is on track for release in the first quarter of 2000. Hundreds of future Sims fans are already getting their houses in order in anticipation of the game’s upcoming release. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
