The useful part: The ITANIUM brand extends Intel’s reach into the highest level of computing enabling powerful servers and high-performance workstations which will address the increasing demands that the Internet economy places on e-Businesses. According to Intel research, only five percent of the existing Internet infrastructure is in place today to address the predicted server needs of the e-Business environment by the year 2005. The Internet economy is changing how corporations create strategies and pursue marketplaces, driving businesses to find ways to transact, transfer, store, manage and communicate. File it under the usual 1999 PC pile: interesting, crowded, and probably fighting five other releases for attention.
