Bethesda Announces The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge

Bethesda and Mythos Games reveal a turn-based alien resistance strategy game for PC and PlayStation 2.

Bethesda Softworks has announced The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge, a turn-based strategy game from Mythos Games, the studio known for X-COM and Magic & Mayhem. The game is planned for Q4 2000 on PC and PlayStation 2.

Freedom Ridge is set after a 70-day war leaves Earth shattered by alien invaders. Players command the Terran Liberation Army, build bases, protect civilians, scavenge resources, and fight tactical squad battles using everything from old human hardware to captured alien technology.

The setup pulls from UFO conspiracies, Area 51, alien abductions, and Men in Black mythology. Coming from Mythos, that is enough to raise an eyebrow. Coming with 3D graphics and physics, it might raise both.
