Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Announced

Electronic Arts and Westwood Studios have announced Command & Conquer Red Alert 2, the sequel to the three-million-selling real-time strategy hit. The game is planned for Windows 95 and 98 this fall.

This time the Soviet Empire invades America, hitting cities like New York and Washington before the Allies can get their boots tied. Players can command either side, with the Soviets pushing into North America and the Allies fighting to throw them back.

Red Alert 2 brings back the alternate-history insanity with psychic warfare, nuclear weapons, Tesla technology, chrono tricks, gap generators, weather control, armies, aircraft, and navies. The war will run through American locations before spreading to Mexico, Germany, France, and Siberia. In other words, Westwood is not thinking small.
