Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is a special hardware collection released by Microsoft in November 2026 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. It pairs a translucent OG Green Xbox Series X console with the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, both designed as a direct visual callback to the original Xbox hardware from 2001.
The console carries the full Xbox Series X specification unchanged: 1TB of NVMe storage, the same AMD-based custom silicon, and full backward compatibility with Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox titles. The aesthetic work is in the casing. The translucent shell exposes the internals in the green tint associated with the original console launch, and the startup sequence lights the X in green, matching the boot behaviour of the first Xbox.
The controller takes the nostalgia further. The black and white face buttons from the original Duke controller are referenced in the bumper design. The ABXY colours return to the original jewel-tone scheme. The back case and battery door are fully transparent, showing the classic Xbox logo inside. The controller is available separately as well as bundled with the console.
The X25 collection is limited and region-restricted. No review is planned; this entry exists as a Lab record and news anchor.
