About This Hardware

The KONKR Pocket Advance is an Android emulation handheld announced by AYANEO in July 2026 and opened for pre-order the following month, shipping from the end of August. It is modelled closely on the Game Boy Advance, and unlike most devices that borrow that shape, its display is chosen to serve it: the 3.5 inch 3:2 LCD runs at 960x640, exactly four times the Game Boy Advance's 240x160, so original artwork scales at a clean 4x with no interpolation and no uneven pixel grid.

It runs a MediaTek Helio G90T, a 2019 mid-range mobile chip AYANEO had previously used in the Pocket AIR Mini, with active cooling. The device ships on Android 12 under AYANEO's own software layer, comprising AYASpace, the AYAHome launcher and AYASetting. Other hardware includes a 4000mAh battery, USB 2.0 Type-C with power delivery, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual speakers, a vibration motor, a gyroscope and a volume wheel. The control layout keeps the D-pad and ABXY of the original but adds L1/R1 alongside separate L2/R2 triggers, which AYANEO chief executive Arthur Zhang framed as better mapping for 3D games. It measures 151.3 x 82.4 x 22mm and weighs roughly 224 grams, making it notably thicker and heavier than the handheld it evokes.

Pre-order pricing was set at $89 for the 3GB and 32GB configuration and $109 for 4GB and 64GB, against retail prices of $109 and $129, in navy blue, coral orange and heritage gray. Each unit ships with a carrying case, screen protector, cleaning cloth and a paper stand. KONKR is AYANEO's budget sub-brand, a considerable distance from the Windows handhelds that make up the bulk of the company's catalogue and pricing.

Notes & Warnings
AYANEO has said the initial allocation is limited and orders are first come, first served, which has meant long waits on previous launches. Performance claims above the PS1 and DS era are untested by POCG.

AYANEO is selling an $89 Game Boy Advance, and the screen is the reason to care
Pre-orders are live for the KONKR Pocket Advance at $89, shipping this month. The 960x640 panel is exactly four times a GBA screen, and that is the point.
