3dfx Strengthens Engineering Team puts another piece of PC gear into the September hardware pile, and 1999 is not exactly short on that right now.

Brian Kelleher, 36, has joined the company as vice president of hardware. Kelleher is an industry veteran with more than 15 years of management and engineering experience designing 3D graphics products. At 3dfx he will be responsible for managing the design and development of new hardware products for the company.

The hardware race is getting mean, and the upside is simple: gamers keep getting faster, stranger toys to bolt into their rigs.
