Acclaim appoints Barry Jafrato is today’s industry move, and it is one more reminder that the games business is growing up fast, whether it is ready or not.

Acclaim Entertainment announced the appointment of Barry Jafrato as Managing Director of European Publishing. Jafrato will be responsible for the management of all the Acclaim International’s European publishing units reporting directly to Rod Cousens, president and chief operating officer of Acclaim International. He will be based at Acclaim International’s Knightsbridge, London headquarters.

It is business news, sure, but these moves shape what games get made, what stores carry them, and who is still standing next year.
