Acclaim signs BMX stars Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist

Acclaim Sports has signed BMX stars Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist to multi-year endorsement deals, with both riders consulting on an upcoming BMX video game.

Acclaim Sports has signed BMX riders Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist to exclusive multi-year endorsement deals for an upcoming BMX video game. Mirra, the 1998 X-Games Male Athlete of the Year, owns six gold medals across the Street, Vert, and Vert Doubles competitions; Nyquist, his roommate, took silver in dirt at last year’s X-Games.

The two will consult on course design and bike physics, front the game’s advertising, packaging, and merchandising, appear at Acclaim’s booth at E3 in 2000, and wear the Acclaim Sports logo in competition. Details on the game itself are promised in the months ahead. Locking up the sport’s biggest name before anyone else could is a loud opening move for a game nobody has seen yet.
