Aliens: Colonial Marines Pushed Back to February 2013
Gearbox and SEGA have pushed Aliens: Colonial Marines from Fall 2012 to February 12, 2013, buying more time on the high-profile Aliens licence.
Originally set for a Fall 2012 launch, Aliens: Colonial Marines will now hit stores on February 12, 2013. Gearbox president Randy Pitchford framed the new date as the definitive launch for a game the team has poured years of passion into, and SEGA pointed to its track record with the Aliens licence stretching back to Aliens vs. Predator.
Delays this late usually mean a team buying time to get a high-profile licence right. Given how much weight is riding on the Aliens name, a few extra months is the safer bet, even if the wait stings for fans who have been waiting a lot longer than that.
